How can I bring a Convo Now interpreter to a video conferencing platform?

Yes! You can have an interpreter join your meeting on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, or Google Meet. Here’s how.

Here's the step-by-step:

  1. Open Convo Now on the web or via the mobile app.

    1. We recommend using the web app, if possible, for a better video-conferencing experience.

  2. Get an interpreter and let them know that you would like to have them join your video conference meeting. To ensure the best experience let the interpreter know:

    1. Number of participants

    2. Expected length of meeting

    3. Context of meeting

👀 NOTE: if you plan to have additional meetings, you can stay connected to Convo Now during the meeting. That way you can share new links for additional meetings while staying connected with the same interpreter. If you happen to disconnect due to network issues, feel free to get an interpreter again for additional meetings.

  3. Share the full video conference link via chat on Convo Now.

  4. Give the interpreter a bit of time to open up the link and join the meeting. If required, be sure to give them the passcode/password and other information.

  5. Once the interpreter joins your meeting, you can do either of two things:

    1. Stay with an interpreter through Convo Now and through the video conferencing app at the same time. (Some of our interpreters may be on PC and this would not be possible.)

    2. You can end the call with an interpreter via Convo Now and continue the conversation through the video-conferencing app. NOTE: The Interpreter(s) will document the total duration of the meeting, which will be reflected on your account shortly afterward.
